Rulings on fasting

Its rules are as follows :

  1. Fasting is the name of abstaining from eating, drinking and associating with one's wife with the intention of gaining nearness to Allah.
  2. Fasting in Ramadan is obligatory and it is the fourth pillar of Islam.
  3. It is obligatory on every sane adult (male and female) and every Muslim who has the power to fast.
  4. The time of fasting is from dawn to sunset.


Conditions for making fasting obligatory

There are four conditions for fasting in Ramadan :
  1. Being a Muslim (fasting is not obligatory on a kaafir unless he converts to Islam).
  2. Being sane (fasting is not obligatory on a madman until he regains his sanity).
  3. Becoming an adult (fasting is not obligatory on a child until he becomes an adult. Yes, if he has the strength to fast, he can be kept in the habit).
Having the power to fast (Therefore, if a person is old or has an illness that makes it impossible for him to recover, he should not fast in Ramadan, but he should eat a poor person every day as an expiation for those fasts.) Will feed).
